Balaclava ( fashion dictionary )


 





A from of headgear with apertures for the eys and mouth, Balaclavas were first produced by th Balaklava village people in the Crimea during the Crimean War ( 1854 - 1856 ) to protet Britsh troops from the cold temperatures. They are often associated with military forces, such as the SAS, or robbers and terrorists, as they enable the wearer to conceal their identity.
