Hair and hats 1960-1972 ( history of fashion )

The breaking down of all previews accepted standards and formality was the most remarkable trend in fashion during the sixties.A constant demand for novelty and change was being created and many extreme styles were created that specific period.
The hem of mini skirts was the most popular since the rose came up to heights never before have seen or imagined. The most of trousers were seen at all times of the day and in every occassion, and in general the youngs adopted  all the "trendy" styles (the majority of which were designed specific for their age) through selective retailers with speciality for the teenage target groups.
The personal taste and style was reflected to each women hairdressing, having as the most popular style the softer and the most casual styling, rejecting the old shapes and giving place to a more natural effect.
The art of cutting was vital for a hairdresser (skill level) and so the colouring process, in order to be created the most natural effect.
The "ideal" look in hair over this period was the fashion for wings and hair pieces(a trend that first appeared in the late fifties),were the wigs (price equall to quality) could easily washed and being permanently shaped since they required no setting.
The use of hat was already in decline, and only at department stores coulb be sold since small milliner's shops dealing exclusively in headwear were out of business, since the use of hats was specific for inportant social functions and not on the streets.
A favourite style of hat, was a large togue created completely from flowers, or unched net, while the fur hats seemed particularly appropriate with "midi" coats and boots,at the winter time of 1969-70.
In generally the shapes of the hats of sixties, were berets, turbans and wooly hats and helmets (futuristism) in more up-to-date materila and construction way.
The most districtive type of the period was the deep crowned and wide brimmed style with decidedly masculine character Sobrero, stetson and the trilby.
