Manolo The Shoemaker ( stylelife )
Fashion writer Camilla Morton plays on the fact that high-fashion and fantasy are one and the same in her Fashion Fairy Tale Memoir series, combining the magical life of a famed fashion designer with a well-known fairy tale. Following the success of Christian Lacroix and the Tale of the Sleeping Beauty, Morton brings us the next book in the series, this time focusing on her friend and mentor Manolo Blahnik. The inspiring life of the shoe maven is blended with the fairy tale “The Elves and the Shoemaker” and depicted through some whimsical illustrations by the designer himself. Blahnik’s drawings follow his remarkable journey from the banana plantations of his childhood in the Canary Islands to his current domination of the high-fashion footwear industry. The result is a unique kind of memoir that is just as magical and as covetable as a pair of the designer’s carefully-crafted high heels.
Manolo Blahnik and the tale of the Elves and the Shoemaker is out tomorrow.

Gant New Perfume ( stylelife )
With new store openings and amazing collaborations—who doesn't love Michael Bastian x GANT?—it seems like GANT is really on a roll....or in this case...a spritz. Developed in cooperation with iconic perfumer Pierre Wulff (above, right) and famed bottle designer Pierre Dinand (left), GANT is introducting a new scent that is remarkably fresh and masculine—think sea air mixed with a woodsy aroma. The solid blue glass bottle, which was designed to resemble braided wicker, further emphasizes the nautical theme. Want to try it? To coincide with the launch date, all purchases made through gant.com will include a full travel-size bottle; we're not talking about skimpy little testers here.
Row, swim, run...do anything you have to...but walk and sniff out the new GANT scent at a store/web site near you. Click here for a behind the scenes look at the Pierres' partnership.
Available in GANT stores worldwide and gant.com starting November 1st

The MTA owes Meisel a great debt, never before has the subway system looked so glamorous. With Raquel head to toe in seasonal finery and the hustle and bustle of rush hour transformed into a series of chic images, we can’t help but love this story.
